In May 2002, Ebony 104 began broadcasting as Trinidad and Tobago’s only Adult Urban station. Today E 104 remains the only station that reaches R&B lovers throughout the twin island republic.
Part of E 104’s format is to also reflect the lifestyle of audiences in the East West corridor of Trinidad by bringing in elements of true Trini flavour. The play list features the evergreen calypsos and soca music and from time to time you’ll even hear interviews with our Caribbean artistes.
“Vibrant and witty” are words that describe our announcers. Our presenters are a key success factor – they have all done the party and events circuit and grew up on Old School music so their names are known in our local communities.
Ebony 104 has also gone out of the box with its promotional campaigns. The most popular has been the “Ride the Bus” tour where teams have to plant E 104 flags along the East West corridor. The bus that gets there first wins the cash and prizes.
Apart from all of the hype and passion on the air, Ebony is also one of the official radio stations for the Annual Plymouth Jazz Festival in Tobago which has been named by Forbes magazine as “one of the world’s top ten entertainment events on the calendar.”
SO if you’re looking for Anita Baker, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Usher, Toni Braxton, Luther Vandross, John Legend and others from this music pot- there’s only one station to turn to – Ebony 104.1FM – it’s where you’ll Feel the Music!
